Travel Tips for the Broke and Adventurist Student

As we all know, college is a time for freedom and adventure. Students use these educational years as a way to not only experience life, but also experience the world. And now that the world is brimming with affordable ways for students to live out their adventurous dreams, you can be low on cash and still travel the smart way.

Start Saving and Cutting Expenses

The most logical solution to a problem like this is to cut all of your expenses down at school. Use coupons while shopping and stop letting restaurant/fast food companies take all your cash. By having a job while at school, you will be able to save enough over time that your vacation dreams can come true.

Find Out From Someone Who Knows

Whether it is by book or by word of mouth, traveling tips for the adventurous students are not hard to come by. Simply take the advice of someone who knows what they are talking about. Then you can usually learn about better rates and deals offered by travel services and other lands.

Don’t Forget that You Are a Student

The great thing about being a student is that the world tends to sympathize with you. It is no secret that those seeking higher education end up a little on the broke side. Using your student identification card will get you discounts and deals that you would not been able to get otherwise.

Plan to Sleep for Cheap

No matter what your destination is, there should be a way for you to sleep for cheap. Knowing that you don’t have enough money to stay at the Ritz Carlton, hostels are a more cost-effective solution to the problem. While the beds offered may only be in rooms the size of a dorm room, staying at a hostel is a great way to save money, meet lots of new people, and get tips from others on what low budgeted areas are worth seeking.

Eat for Cheap

Keep in mind that you don’t have to spend half your money on food in order to live on a college adventure. By shopping at local grocery stores while you are there and loading up on free condiments from the fast food places, you will be able to eat while still being able to afford having a good time.

Keep Your Nose Clean

One of the best ways to save money while taking an adventure is to stay out of trouble wherever you decide to go. Just because you consider something to be a good (and maybe legal) idea doesn’t mean that the people in your destination agree. This is also just a good idea in general if you want to stay away from punishments that are given out by places foreign to yourself.

Always Use Legal Tenders

If you are traveling abroad, then you must be careful to use only authorized agents when dealing with money and other financial matters. In some places, students end up getting ripped off, arrested, or robbed by unauthorized agents saying they can exchange money and handle other financial matters for you. Make sure not to follow anyone down an alley in hopes of getting the correct amount of foreign money in return.

In fact, try to stay away from the alleys in general and your cheap travels should work out just fine!
